Update 9/15/13 – 3:30pm

The great news is that many areas of the District should be coming online today.  Thanks to an emergency cross-tie with the City of Lafayette we have been able to restore service to the Park Lake, Willow Glenn, Fox Run, and Stonehenge subdivisions.  Customers in most areas should have water by the end of the day today, with the exception of a few pockets where line breaks have isolated a few houses and the areas listed in our “Extended Outage” post from yesterday.  Phones remain out at our administrative offices, but we are working on emergency measures in hopes of having something in place by Monday.  Please remember the BOIL ORDER APPLIES TO EVERY CUSTOMER IN THE DISTRICT, EVEN THOSE WHO ARE BEING SERVED VIA OUR EMERGENCY TIE-INS WITH OTHER SYSTEMS.  Regarding the boil advisory, we are still coordinating with the state health department and testing and sampling the system, and still have a target of trying to meet the requirements to have the order lifted within the next 24-48 hours.  We have had many offers from customers willing to volunteer and many, many kind messages from customers.  Please know that our staff greatly appreciates your continued support and understanding.
