Distribution Manager

This is supervisory and technical work involving responsibility for the direction and operation of the District’s water utility system.  Under general direction from the District Manager, the successful candidate will manage all aspects of Water Distribution Operations, including staff management, preparation and monitoring of departmental budgets, planning, encroachments and right-of-way management, customer service, and the management of distribution systems and water quality issues.

The Distribution Manager is responsible for the operation, management and maintenance of all distribution facilities including but not limited to pipelines, pump stations, control vaults, storage tanks, and metering equipment; District fleet and equipment; District shop and other facilities.  It is expected that the Distribution Manager will provide highly responsible and technical assistance to further the district’s mission and goals relating to operations, asset management, backflow prevention, billing and metering, water quality, and capital improvements.  The employee in this position exercises considerable independent judgment in scheduling and directing departmental activities. Possession of a Class 3 Distribution Operator Certificate or higher, or the ability to obtain based on experience and education, is preferred.  Excellent benefits & pay commensurate with experience. Must live within 30 minutes of the District service area. Work outside of normal business hours may be required. Position open until filled.

Treatment Plant Mechanic

This is technical work involving responsibility for the day to day repair and maintenance operations of the District’s Water Treatment Facilities including mechanical, electrical, electronics, controls, hydraulic, and HVAC systems. At least 2 years’ experience working in an industrial mechanic setting. The employee in this class exercises considerable independent judgment in scheduling and directing treatment facilities repair and maintenance activities. Possession of a Class “A” Water Operator Certificate is preferred but not required.  Excellent benefits & pay commensurate with experience. Must live within 45 minutes of the plants in Niwot, CO, and be willing and able to work nights, weekends, and holidays and be on-call on a rotating basis.  Position open until filled.
