Peterson Gardens

Water Conservation Demonstration Garden

After our Administration Building was constructed in 1995, we had a garden designed and
built that would promote water conservation. It matured beautifully, and in 2007 we expanded the garden to the west to display more trees and create a large rock garden on a slope.

Our planting plans have always included selections from the Plant Select Program (www.plantselect.org).

In 2011, we were approved as a Plant Select Demonstration Garden! We have done some renovation to make room for more Plant Select plants.  In June, 2012, the garden was renamed in honor of Kathryn Peterson, who served the District as General Manager for over twenty years.

The gardens are open to the public during business hours (8:30 am – 4:30 pm), Monday – Friday.  Please sign in at the Administrative Office before visiting the gardens.

We also offer gardening classes for our customers each year.
